Honestly, I think the Moa may be the most superb model revamp EVE has ever seen. The combination of a sleek-yet-powerful profile, simple engine layout, sensible gun mountings, and moving parts really took one of the ugliest vessels in the game and made it a star. I'm currently training towards Amarr, but am having a hard time tearing myself away from this ship. It wasn't just a good job, it was the best job. Bravo, CCP.
But I continue to train Amarr. Why? Because my progession options (other than the Eagle) coming out of the Moa are just bad. Yes, there are a number of other Caldari ships that still need a lot of love, but I'd put the two other gunboats -- the Ferox and the Rokh -- at the top of that list. Aesthetics mean a lot to me, and both are too fail to fly.
Let's start with the Ferox. Yes, this old warhorse obviously has more supporters than the Moa's old model did. But I still see it as a tired, directionless mess -- it's all wings with a flat front; it's hideous. The Ferox is one of those models that I look at and say "okay, where is the bridge on this ship; where are the engineering spaces?" But there are no clear answers to those questions, because the hull is a chaos of conflicting ideas.
The Rokh's basic design is better, but its overall lack of detail is just brutal. Compare the Rokh's model to just about any other BS in the game -- it's incredibly plain. While Caldari ships are rarely graceful, they typically feature a lot of delicate parts -- antenna arrays and winglets and such. The Rokh is just shorn of all complexity -- it's a big, blue log floating through space.
There are other candidates, of course, but I think those two should be front and center for future reworkings, even if their models are newer than other options. |

Going to second this. I really like the new Blackbird. In a way, it kind of reminds me of a miniature Raven. |
